Sig initially address this issue on the early production P365's by increasing the recoil spring from 19 to 20 pounds. The only time its ever happened with mine was when I was shooting factory reloads of 115 grain ammo. Failed to lock back twice in 100 rounds. Logic dictates that if the depth of protrusion is reduced then the primer strike depth would be reduced, specifically by .014 of an inch. This is a significant reduction, given the shape of the striker tip.
